Help Support Ithaca Community Radio

Three column layout dimensions

Your generous support over the years made it possible for us to complete the long and complex process of obtaining FCC licenses to have community owned and operated broadcast services on your airwaves. Now, with a fully functioning Class A license, we can finally have community control of our stations in Ithaca and the Watkins Glen area. Your support made possible our efforts to establish a local, community owned and operated radio station with a mission of using the airwawes in service of our communities.

Ithaca and Fingerlakes Community Radio can now focus on its work of serving our communities by providing radio for the people by the people -- radio that serves our communities and reflect our interests.

We Appreciate Donations of any Amount

By making a financial contribution, you support ICR's immediate need for funding short and long-term projects. This includes covering current operating costs and the cost of obtaining and creating programming. All of our operating expenses are paid for by the generous support of our listeners. We are grateful for any dontation you can make, and we believe that what is important is not the amount of support but the fact that you've taken action to support us. We are proud that our community supports the idea of community controlled media.

Donations to Ithaca Community Radio are tax deductible (under 501c3 status). We are using the New York Council of Nonprofits' "Innovative Charitable Initiatives" (ICI) as our fiscal agent.

Online Donations can be made securely using a credit card, and it's easy to specify if you'd like to make a one time donation or a recurring donation; it's even possible to make your gift anonymously if you wish. You may also dedicate your gift in honor or memory of someone or an institution, as well as participate in corporate or matching gift programs.

If you wish to mail us your contribution, please send checks or money orders made out to Ithaca Community Radio with Innovative Charitable Initiatives in the memo line, or vice versa.

Lend a Hand, Join us in Creating and Establishing Our Community Radio Station

There are several ways you can help Ithaca Community Radio. Becoming involved in the growth of Ithaca Community Radio is vital to the success of this grassroots project. It takes many hands to build a successful community radio station, and we'd love for as many community members as possible to get involved.

Whether you have previous radio experience or you're interested in learning, we welcome your willingness to help. Even if you believe your skills may not be radio-oriented, we have many other projects beyond radio production that could use some assistance.

If you'd like to to learn to "make radio," please sign up for one of our radio production workshops. You'll be taught the basics of radio journalism, learning to interview, record, edit, and produce your very own stories. And you'll have fun while working with some of your neighbors from the Finger Lakes community. Several of your friends and neighbors have already completed the workshops and you can join them in creating your community's radio station.
